Writing (typing) my fingers off!

So I challenged myself in the middle of October to join in on the NaNoWriMo writing challenge.  50,000 words in 30 days.  So I sat down on November 1st and started writing a story, no planning, just letting the words flow.  I have no idea where the story will lead, I’m just enjoying the twists and turns as they happen.  The first thing I did was type up a Christmas story I had hand written.  I had no idea what this story was doing in the midst of my NaNo novel but it was there for a reason.  It is going to show up at some point in the story and be a key aspect of the plot of the story.  When it does will be a surprise to me as well.  I am seriously wondering what I have committed to this month.

So far for this novel, that I have tentatively titled “Indecision”, I have written 10,809 words.  I never thought I could write that many words in a week and still be having fun writing them.  I keep counting on my fingers how many weeks there are in this month and how many words per week I would need to type to meet that 50,000 word goal and I keep coming up with the same figure, I am going to have to type at lease 11,o00 words per week for the next 3 1/2 weeks to make sure that I am above that goal line at the end of the month.

This is not counting all of the work I am doing on my second Gemma book that is scheduled (tentatively now) for late November release.  There is a lot of work left to do on the book that I am struggling with.  The story is great! I am loving how it is turning out, but the grade level is way too high.  I have asked a couple of kid friends that I have to help me with reducing the vocabulary from a 7th grade to a 4th grade level.  I am hoping that I will get to work with them this weekend.  We shall see.

I am LOLing right now.  Two totally different books for two totally different age groups.  My mind is a total mess right now.
