The Day After …

Hurricane Matthew made his way up the east coast this past week. He skirted around the ocean playing havoc and teasing those in his path! He kept the weathermen guessing about what he was going to do. He finally made his decision, ending up with land fall in southern South Carolina.

The wind and rain were a little scary. There are downed trees all over the state. Over 800,000 people were without power yesterday. That’s slowly changing today and we’re getting back to normal.

Today, there’s bright sunshine, the birds are singing and a constant addition is the sound of chainsaws as the clean up begins.

We have been blessed here in South Carolina, so far there’s only one known fatality. Praying for the family of that person. May God continue to keep us safe in the coming weeks and months as we recover.

Thank goodness for that. Must have been a scary few days waiting.

It was a little scary. This was the first like it for us. We now know what we did right and wrong in preparing. Now we just have to wait for the electric to be restored. Possibly have to wait until the 16th for that. I’m hoping for sooner.
