Little Things Called Life

I have no excuses! I have neglected this blog once again.  I would like to say that it’s because life got in the way, but I would be telling a fib.  Now don’t get me wrong, life has been extremely busy this last couple months but even with that busyness I had time to sit and write a few words here and there but chose not too.

Why did I chose not to? you ask?  Well, the topics that I was thinking about were random.  I thought about writing about my experience as a Hashimoto’s thyroid survivor.  And realized that that battle is still going on and will always go on, so am I really a survivor yet?

Then I thought about writing about my experience in self publishing.  But I am not to that stage yet.  I am almost there, one more proof to look at and then approve and then I will be published.  But oh my goodness, this has been the easiest thing to do.  Self-publishing has been a fun learning experience.

Then I thought about writing about work and how much I love my job.  Being a librarian that gets paid to look at, touch, read, hold and purchase books is the best thing ever for a readaholic like me.  I have so many “to be read” books on my list that I will have something to read until I am 150 years old.  To go along with that is planning library events.  And I planned a doozy for the library at the end of February.  We had a murder mystery spaghetti dinner, that went over fabulously!  It was so good that we have been asked when our next one is going to be.  But I need a breather, that was a lot of planning and a lot more of me upfront and in charge than I am used too.  I need a recharge.

I will tell you that the little thing in life that interrupted my blogging was me.  I simply did not have the motivation to write anything.  Working on self publishing, working a full time job, trying to start in on a second book, found me laying it all aside and becoming lost in computer games and Facebook for a while.

Oh did I say I was starting work on a second book?  Yep, Gemma is going places in this new book, not only does she still love her sweaters, but she is going to be sporting some really cool ones as she travels the world and meets new friends along the way.  This time around I am going to be making copies of the uncolored pages to create a coloring book that will be released at the same time as the book.  How fun is that!

This is why the blog has been sitting empty for a while.  I have no excuses! Just little things called life.
