I drew the first two pictures for my sons for Christmas 2013, and because we celebrated our gift giving a little earlier this year, I can post them on here now. These were fun to make, I enjoyed giving them a gift that was totally created by me. The first time ever doing something like this for them. Okay that is a little fib, I attempted to make a quilt for my youngest when he went to college. I accidentally turned one side of the material upside down before sewing it, so now it doesn’t matter what direction he puts that quilt on his bed it will always be the right side up….Anyway, these drawings are more my style now.
This one is for my oldest son. He wanted a turtle sun bathing, but I thought one that was playing a video game fit his personality better.
My youngest son loves to garden, he asked for a gardening scene, so I created this one for him. I couldn’t find a font I liked for his name so created one myself. I am calling it The Rake.
I drew this one for my husband, he asked me to create a sign for the Celebrate Recovery program that we have started at our church. I added a shadow to the word cafe after I took this picture. It is the largest picture I have creating using this technique.
I am having such a blast creating these pictures. I still have a list of pictures to complete, but before I get started on them I have one more Christmas present to make for my husband. I am going to be painting some Russian nesting dolls that he will be using for his counseling program. I have been procrastinating, paint has never been one of my choices of medium so am kind of leery about starting. I am afraid to mess them up. But just like the drawing that I was so afraid to start not too long ago, I am going to need to face my fears. I am going to have to jump right in there and get it done. Procrastinating is so easy to do, but time keeps ticking forward and before I know it Christmas will be here and my husband is so looking forward to getting these. So, tomorrow afternoon, I am going to sit down and break out the paint brushes and get those dolls started.
Have a wonderfully creative December my friends, and may your days be filled with blessings.

Well done!
I’d kill for your artistic ability! (Well, maybe “kill” is the wrong word.. then again, maybe not.)

I love your drawings. they are lovely and so happy looking. Go on and stop hesitating I have no doubt you will do a brilliant job on the Russian dolls. I can’t draw a straight line and have huge admiration for people like you!

Thank you Tric, I have been creative my whole life, just never pursued it on a regular basis. I intended to start on them today, but woke up with a cold and have been blah all day. I will definitely post pictures of them once they are finished and will be taking pictures along the way.
