My Sister and Mother’s Day

I have been thinking of my sister all day today.  Tomorrow is going to be a really rough day for her.  Not only is it Mother’s Day but it is her son’s 31st birthday and the first one she will go through since he passed away a little over a month ago.  I wish I were there to hold her hand and give her a great big hug.  She has such a generous heart and the sorrow she is feeling is hard.  I love her lots and want her to know, she is a great mom, a fantastic grandmother, and wonderful sister, and she is really, really, really loved.

Moms through the ages have gone through the same things she is going through now.  They have watched loved ones leave before their time and they have made it through the hard times.  I hope my sister realizes that she can turn to just about any mom near  her and get the comfort from them that she needs.  Even some of the Mother’s in the bible went through the unexpected loss of a child.  I hope my sister looks at the strength they portrayed and take some of that on herself.  She doesn’t realize it, maybe never thought about it, but my sister is strong too.  She has survived so much in her life and never given up.  I am so very proud of her.

I want to protect her privacy so am not putting in names, that is so hard to do.  My friends and her friends that read this will know who she is.  My sister will hopefully read this and know that my heart, my love, my respect are all flowing to her in wave after wave of thought.
